KABUL, Afghanistan (July 12, 2018) – Soldiers with the Mongolian Expeditionary Task Force Seven (METF Seven) hold a Naadam festival at New Kabul Compound (NKC) in Kabul, Afghanistan, July 12, 2018, to celebrate the Mongolian Revolution and their country’s independence. Naadam is known in Mongolia as “eriin gurvan naadam” or, “three games of men”, which includes Mongolian-style wrestling, horse racing and archery, all of which gave coalition partners an opportunity to experience and learn about Mongolian traditions and culture. The METF Seven are currently deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan in support of NATO’s Resolute Support Mission where they play a critical role in the force protection of coalition partners and civilian residents at NKC.
