Cpl. Diomarys Negron Velez, a Philadelphia native and '08 graduate of Edison High School, hands out backpacks and school supplies to children who attended the reopening of the Asad Sori School, Feb. 6. Negron Velez is finishing her seven-month combat deployment to Afghanistan as part of the Female Engagement Team. The FET members are female Marines and sailors who interact with the female population of Afghanistan in a culturally tolerated manner.
