180718-G-ZV557-1084 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 18, 2018) Members of the the Coast Guard Maritime Security Response Team-West load food and supplies from the flight deck of the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf (WMSL 750) July 17, during the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise. Twenty-five nations, 46 ships and five submarines, about 200 aircraft, and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Island and Southern California. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among the participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans.
