An S-3B Viking assigned to the "Top Cats" of Sea Control Squadron (VS) 31 launches from the flight deck of the Nimitz-class carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). The John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group is on deployment in support of Maritime Security Operations (MSO). MSO helps set the conditions for security and stability, as well as aid the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations.
