180717-N-BW951-075 NORTH SHORE, Hawaii (July 17, 2018) - A jump master stands in the doorway of a C-17 Globemaster III watching for it to approach the drop zone while a Republic of Korea Navy Special Warfare Flotilla high altitude-low opening jumper (left) acts as secondary jump master during static line airborne training operations during RIMPAC 2018. Twenty-five nations, 46 ships, five submarines, about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans.
