Montana National Guardsman Staff Sgt. Rick Haerter, infantryman, 1st platoon, Company B, 1st Battalion, 163rd Infantry (Mech), displayes what is believed to be the core of an armor-piercing round that was fired at the 1st platoon Soldiers.
The sniper who fired on the Soldiers was never apprehended.
No one was hurt by the gunfire.
