Sgt. Jose Portugal, a technical engineer assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 64th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, discusses engineering methods with Ghanaian Army engineers at the Bundase Training Camp outside Accra, Ghana, July 20, 2018. Portugal helped supervise the construction of a helicopter landing zone that will be used for the Ghanaians to utilize in future training scenarios. United Accord 2018 is an annual, combined, joint exercise between the United States, European, and Economic Community of West African States countries. The two-week exercise includes: a robust command post exercise (CPX), a large-scale field exercise with engineer and infantry troops, a medical readiness exercise, and a Jungle Warfare School taught by the Ghanaian armed forces.
