U.S. Army National Guard Soldiers from the 42nd Division pause during offensive operations in late July 1918 as part of the Aisne Marne attacks near Chateau Thierry, France. The 42nd Division seized Croix Rouge Farm and crossed Ourcq River July 29th, aided by two battalions from the 4th Division. They captured Sergy, Meurcy Farm and Seringes-et-Nesles, advancing on the 30th to Foret de Nesles and beyond Sergy. Courtesy image.
