Lt. Col. Samuel Whitehurst, deputy commanding officer of 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Kirkuk Mayor Abdul Rahman Mustafa, Kirkuk Provincial Council Chairman Rizgar Ali Hamajan and other provincial council members cut a ribbon at the opening of the Shoraw village water project May 24. The Shoraw water project provides clean water to nearly 15,000 people of Shoraw and neighboring villages and its opening symbolizes the strength and perseverance of the people in and around Kirkuk.
