Drill Sergeant Leaders train and test the drill sergeant candidates on their knowledge of modules at the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant PT field, July 24. Candidates must be able to pitch and demonstrate modules. Soldiers serving at the Drill Sergeant School are hand-picked from a select group of noncommissioned officers and are charged with preparing the Army’s elite for becoming a drill sergeant.
