Sergeant Major of the U.S. Army Daniel Dailey uses a pneumatic "mat-tying" tool aboard the Mat Sinking Unit July 24, 2018 to wire sections of articulated concrete mattress together. The Mat Sinking Unit lays articulated concrete mattress to maintain the desired channel alignment of the Mississippi River by preventing channel migration through bank erosion.
