Petty Officer 2nd Class Nimitz Martin, ship's serviceman, assigned to the guided-missile frigate USS Thach, hugs his son after returning from a six-month deployment to Central and South America supporting Southern Seas 2011. Thach participated in three major exercises, made 18 port visits in seven countries and transited the Panama Canal and the Straits of Magellan.
