    200th Military Police Command

    Mark Bowdish, a former U.S. Army Reserve medic with the 303rd Military Police Company, of Jackson, Michigan, displays a tattoo made over one of his gunshot wounds he survived in Afghanistan during a portrait session in Stockbridge, Michigan, June 16, 2018. Bowdish was shot by the Taliban four times during an attack he and his fellow Soldiers survived in Kandahar, Afghanistan, June 19, 2012. In the yeas following the attack, Bowdish has been hosting an annual "Happy Alive Day" picnic to celebrate life along with his family, Soldiers and loved ones to show that unity in the military brotherhood is stronger than the enemies who attacked them.
