Colonel (ret) Bruce B. Clarke, son of Lieutenant Colonel Arthur F. Gorham, and his family join VADM Franchetti, CAPT Trickel, and CDR Corderofor the 75th anniversary of the commencement of Operation Husky and the battle of Pone Dirillo. Col. Clarke's father was the first commander of the 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, part of the 82nd Airborne Division. He led the unit from its inception until Operation Husky, the July 1943 Allied invasion of Sicily, where he was killed in action during the Battle of Ponte Dirillo.
