Soldiers from Troop A, Troop B, Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, and elements of Detachment 1, Troop C, 1st Squadron, 18th Cavalry Regiment, California National Guard, spend time with friends and family following a ceremony to case the squadron's colors, Monday, May 28, 2018, at Joint Forces Training Base, Los Alamitos, California, before departing for their deployment to Jordan. The cavalry troopers will first train in Texas before continuing on overseas to help train their Jordanian military counterparts at the invitation of the King. “Our mission is to help the Jordanian Army achieve a higher level of excellence and increase interoperability between the two armies,” said 1-18 Command Sgt. Maj. Luis Ferretti. Ferretti said the troopers trained for the mission for more than a year and are extremely excited to assist in the development of their host nation's Army.
