180729-G-ZV557-1339 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 29, 2018) A Coast Guard Tactical Delivery Team member, part of the Maritime Security Response Team-West (MSRT-West), scales a hook and climb ladder July 29, during a boarding operation aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf (WMSL 750). MSRT-West members are temporarily assigned to the Bertholf (WMSL 750) as part of Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC). Twenty-five nations, 46 ships and five submarines, about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Island and Southern California. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among the participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans.
