DAHLGREN, Va. (June 21, 2018) - Chester Petry, NSWC Dahlgren Division Chief Engineer for Electromagnetic Launch Weapons, briefs Propel students on the Navy's Electromagnetic Railgun Program, including the use of electric weapons on future combatants where the need for electric power will continue to grow and improve combat capability. Petry briefed the Warfare Centers' new supervisors during their tour of NSWCDD that included the Potomac River Test Range and the Human Performance Laboratory in addition to the Railgun Facility. The five-day Propel course provides an introductory level awareness of Warfare Center expectations and teaches a whole person supervisory approach that focuses on understanding supervisory responsibilities, practicing soft skills, and knowing where to go for situationally specific human resources support.
