YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 2, 2018) Information Systems Technician Seaman Tahir Akram, left, from Cleveland, assigned to the Navy's forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), performs the mechanical advantage control hold (MACH) takedown on Airman Simeyon Scruggs, from Atlanta, at Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka during a security reaction force training exercise. MACH takedowns are designed to de-escalate aggression from non-compliant personnel. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
