180805-N-TW634-086 PACIFIC OCEAN (August 5th, 2018) Navy Diver 1st Class Michael Eckert, assigned to Undersea Rescue Command (URC), serves as the aft compartment controller for the pressurized rescue module (PRM), as URC prepares to deploy the PRM to the ocean floor to mate with the Chilean Submarine (CS) Simpson (SS 21) during the submarine rescue exercise CHILEMAR VIII. CHILEMAR VIII is a bilateral exercise designed to demonstrate interoperability between the U.S. submarine rescue systems and Chilean submarines.
