A Border Patrol K9 team apprehends two Guatemalan nationals attempting to evade apprehension.
The two men, ages 19 and 23, were dressed in camouflage and carpet booties, items often used by illegal aliens in an attempt to avoid detection. Both men had been apprehended in the past and now face criminal prosecution for illegal re-entry.
Operation Guardian Support allows National Guard soldiers to provide aerial support to the Border Patrol. Whether its surveillance using UH-72 Lakota aircraft or transporting agents in the UH-60 Blackhawk, agents are now have eyes and boots in areas not heavily patrolled in the past due to the vastness of southern Arizona’s desert.
