NEWPORT, R.I. (Aug. 15, 2018) Lt. Jevon Page, an instructor at Surface Warfare Officers School (SWOS) gives a tour of the Conning Officer Virtual Environment (COVE) simulators to Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) midshipmen during the start of the 2018 NROTC National Shiphandler of the Year competition at SWOS. More than 15 midshipmen from across the country competed to be named the 2018 NROTC National Shiphandler of the Year. The three-day event used COVE I and III simulators as the midshipmen were judged performing virtual reality conning and ship driving scenarios.
