Brig. Gen. William (Brad) Richy, director of joint staff, Idaho National Guard, places a symbol of respect in front of a statue honoring King Taksin the Great prior to the Hanuman Guardian 2018 opening ceremony at the Royal Thai Army’s Cavalry Center in Thailand’s Saraburi province. Taskin is considered to be the father of the country’s cavalry. Hanuman Guardian is an 11-day bilateral army-to-army exercise that strengthens capability and builds interoperability between U.S. and Royal Thai Army forces.
