Lance Cpl. Brittany D. Williams, a combat videographer with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Military Information Support Operations detachment, enjoys a favorite pastime inside berthing aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) at White Beach Naval Facility, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 20, 2018. Williams, a native of TravelersRest, South Carolina, graduated TravelersRest High School June 2016 before enlisting in the Marine Corps the following month. Marines and Sailors spend their free time drawing, reading, or interacting with their fellow service members while relaxing in communal living spaces. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible force ready to perform a wide-range of military operations in the Indo-Pacific region.
