Lance Cpl. Ryan Heppel, 20, from Wayne, N.J., with Military Police Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 17, is shocked with a Taser X-26 aboard USS Bonhomme Richard, Sept. 30. The Taser training gave the Marines the opportunity to see how someone would react to 50,000 volts running through their body. This gives MPs insight on how soon someone can recover after being shocked and how fast they need to secure a suspect.
