180821-N-IE405-1022 SAN DIEGO (Aug. 21, 2018) Lt. Hannah Garcia, the youngest dental officer, and Capt. Maria Korsnes cut a cake celebrating the Navy Dental Corps 106th birthday at Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD). About 167 dental officers and 512 enlisted personnel currently serve and support Sailors, Marines, and their families at various NMCSD dental branches. The Navy Dental Corps was established on Aug. 22, 1912, with an Act of Congress that was later signed by President Howard Taft.
