CPO Selectees from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center from pose for a group picture aboard the USS Wisconsin (BB-64) during the 18th Annual CPO Heritage Days training event. The Wisconsin is moored permanently next to the Hampton Roads Museum as a museum ship. The event is hosted by the museum, local Chief Petty Officers, volunteers and Nauticus. During the event, selectees learned about various aspects of naval history, including Pearl Harbor, the history of women in the Navy, chiefs aboard submarines, the history of the chief petty officer, and the Navy in Vietnam. Selectees will also have the chance to speak with former Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Duane Bushey. After the presentations, commands competed for the “Best Mess” through a guidon and cadence competition. This year’s event attracted participants from over 50 area commands and well over 700 CPO selectees during the course of this three day event. (US Navy Photo by Clay Farrington/Released)
