USS Pueblo (AGER-2) Veteran Earl Phares speaks to CPO Selectees from area commands aboard the USS Wisconsin (BB-64) and at the Nauticus pavilion. He retired from the US Navy at as a Senior Chief in 1995, and recounted his 335 days of captivity in North Korea after the Pueblo was captured on January 28, 1968. The Hampton Roads Naval Museum, in conjunction with local Chief Petty Officers and Nauticus, hosts the annual CPO Heritage Days event, which provides history and heritage training for CPO selectees over the course of three days. This years event was held on August 21-23, 2018, and attracted over 840 CPO Selectees from 58 area and out of state commands. (US Navy Photo by Civilian Public Affairs Officer Max Lonzanida/Released)
