COLOMBO, Sri Lanka – U.S. Navy Sailors wait for a resupply for the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) at a Bandaranaike International Airport logistics hub during a regularly scheduled deployment of the Essex ARG and 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), August 28, 2018. The San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and the embarked Marines of the 13th MEU conducted a theater security cooperation exercise with the Sri Lankan Navy and Navy Marines. Part of a growing U.S.-Sri Lanka naval partnership, the exercise is also an opportunity for U.S. Seventh Fleet to explore local logistics support services for visiting naval forces operating throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
