180818-N-UX013-1214 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Aug. 18, 2018) Chief Sonar Technician (Surface) Terry Worall fires a 9mm pistol under the instruction of Fire Controlman 1st Class Devan Wallswolf, range safety officer, during a small arms qualification course on the flight deck of the guided-missile destroyer USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109). Dunham is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
