U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David L. Goldfein visits with military training instructors during a basic military training graduation Aug. 30, 2018, at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Every enlisted Airman begins their Air Force career at basic military training. JBSA-Lackland is often referred to as the "Gateway to the Air Force," graduating about 39,000 Airmen annually. Goldfein served as the reviewing official and Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Kaleth O. Wright served as the guest speaker for the graduation.
