Young is teaching an academic course in the sim because it is much more benficial for the pilots to get a hands-on look of the flight deck's switches instead of just looking at a graph or a book. This is the first sim the pilots will be using and as time goes on eventually get into their first aircraft sortie after seven or more other sims.
