Two caissons from the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) Caisson Platoon, The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” and Soldiers from The 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) conduct military funeral honors with funeral escort for two unknown Civil War Union Soldiers in Section 81 of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, Sept. 6, 2018. These interments were part of the dedication ceremony for the newest area of Arlington National Cemetery, also known as the Millennium site, which consists of 27 acres with more than 27,000 interment spaces, two new committal shelters, and four new columbarium courts. Two caissons have not been provided in support of a military funeral in recent history. (U.S. Army photo by Elizabeth Fraser / Arlington National Cemetery / released)
