Polish Soldiers raise and salute the Polish flag during Bemowo Piskie Training Area celebration day ceremony Sept. 7 at BPTA, Poland. BPTA inherited the traditions of the 5th Zaslavian Uhlan Regiment who fought against the Germans in Sept. 1939 at Drygaly, Biala Piska. The tradition emphasizes BPTA’s connection with its local society. The Soldiers are on a rotational assignment in support of the multinational battle group comprised of U.S., U.K., Croatian and Romanian Soldiers who serve with the Polish 15th Mechanized Brigade as a defense and deterrence force in northeast Poland in support of NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence at BPTA.
