A U.S. Air Force F-15 Strike Eagle receives in-flight fuel from a KC-135 Stratotanker assigned to the 28th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron during an aerial refueling mission in support of Operation Inherent Resolve over Iraq, Sept. 6., 2018. The KC-135 provides aerial refueling to U.S. and Coalition forces in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, the NATO Resolute Support Mission and Operation Freedom's Sentinel. Air refueling is a vital component of flying operations, allowing the F-15 and other aircraft to stay airborne longer and support U.S. and Coalition forces in the air and on the ground.
