The 53rd WRS/NOAA NHOP mission coordination sheet for hurricane Florence lays on the controls of the pilot of a Hurricane Hunters mission that tool off from Savanah Air National Guard Base, Savanah, GA Airport, September 13, 2018. The U.S. Air Force Reserve 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, or Hurricane Hunters, is conducting a storm tasking mission into Hurricane Florence using a WC-130J Hercules, currently a category 2 storm. The flight tasking provides critical and timely weather data for the National Hurricane Center to assist in providing up-to-date and accurate information for storm forecasts.
