U.S. Marines assigned to Combat Logistics Group 8 (CLB-8) are staged at Richlands Volunteer Fire Dept. 14 to aid in evacuating victims of Hurricane Florence to shelter in Jacksonville, N.C., Sept. 15, 2018. CLB-8 is responsible for providing logistical support in the evacuating efforts for the local populace. Hurricane Florence, with its heavy rain and strong winds, is the biggest storm to hit the Carolinas since Hurricane Floyd in 1999, causing power outages and flooding damages and forcing many first responders to be ready at a moment’s notice.
