1st Lt. Mark Lowett, Marine Corps Martial Arts instructor assigned to Iraqi Marine Training Team Three, performs a preliminary visual inspection of the vehicles prior to their departure from Umm Qasr to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, Oct. 14. The 13-members of the training team were the last Marines in Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn. Major operations in Iraq for the Marine Corps ended in 2010. U.S. military forces entered Iraq starting in 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
