Search and rescue teams comprised of members of Coast Guard Maritime Safety Security Teams New Orleans and Miami, Coast Guard Tactical Law Enforcement Team-South and the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade transport residents stranded by Hurricane Florence flooding in Brunswick County, North Carolina, Sept. 18, 2018.
In a period of three days, the joint team covered 1,256 square miles, saved 101 lives, assisted 296 people, rescued 57 dogs and 22 cats, and conducted more than 300 welfare checks on citizens of Brunswick County.
