South Carolina National Guard Soldiers assigned to the 51st Military Police Battalion, from Florence, S.C., provide Marion County, S.C., first responders with assistance telling residents to voluntary evacuate as rising flood water threatens the local community around the Pee Dee River region in Marion, S.C., Sept. 19, 2018. Approximately 2,900 Soldiers and Airmen have been mobilized to respond and participate in recovery efforts as Hurricane Florence caused flooding and damage to the state. The Guard is focusing its efforts primarily in the northeastern region of the state as the rivers rise from run off from the high volume of rain that impacted North Carolina.
