South Florida Urban Search and Rescue, Florida Task Force 2, out of Miami, Fla., provides assistance and reassurance to local residents as flood waters rise in the community of Bucksport, South Carolina, Sept. 24, 2018. The Search and Rescue Team from South Florida has been providing assistance and conducting swift water rescues since Hurricane Florence has produced record levels of water-rising and consequent flooding throughout the state. Local citizens are cautioned to “turn around don’t drown” if they come across cones, barriers and flooded roads when traveling in the affected areas of S.C. Assets from many agencies and military organizations are partnered and postured for Search and Rescue operations as flooding is projected in the Pee Dee area of the state. The South Carolina National Guard's priority is ensuring all assets for any life-saving missions are in place as the state will see rivers rise and flooding.
