The South Carolina Army National Guard’s 125th Multi-Role Bridge Company, from Abbeville, S.C., team up with the U.S. Coast Guard and the law enforcement division of South Carolina’s Department of Natural Resources to practice transporting large, heavy vehicles on U.S. Army floating bridge segments used as rafts on the Sampit River in Georgetown, S.C., Sept. 24, 2018. The 125th MRBC connected segments of floating bridge to create long rafts capable of ferrying large vehicles across the river. The effort is in place to ensure transportation of critical vehicles proceed under worst-case flood conditions. South Carolina braces for flooding from rising waters in lakes and rivers, flowing down from North Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Florence. (U.S. National Guard photo by Senior Master Sgt.
