U.S. Army Master Sgt. James Williamson, state safety noncommissioned officer for the South Carolina National Guard, measures depth of water and road integrity to guide a high water vehicle through a flooded street in Bucksport, S.C., Sept. 26, 2018. South Carolina Army National Guard Soldiers assist search and rescue teams and local first responders using high water vehicles to access roads and neighborhoods that are flooded and too dangerous to drive through. Local citizens are urged to listen to their local authorities and to "turn around, don't drown" if they come across cones, barriers or flooded roads when traveling in the affected areas of S.C. The South Carolina National Guard's priority is ensuring all assets for any life-saving missions are in place and ready as the state sees rivers rise and flooding continues.
