The hilt of the sword given to Brig. Gen. Maurice Thompson from the soldiers under his command reads, “Brig. Gen. Maurice Thompson, from the members of his old command, Co. B. 2D INF N.G.W.” This sword is on display at the Washington National Guard Museum, here at Camp Murray.
