The 23rd U.S. Secretary of Defense and 2018 Sylvanus Thayer Award recipient Leon Panetta receives a cadet saber from West Point cadets after being awarded the Thayer Award at the U.S. Military Academy, in West Point, N.Y., Oct. 4, 2018.
