The “4” drill is one of many events competitors showed their marksmanship skills at this
year’s Michigan National Guard Adjutant General’s Combat Rifle and Pistol Competition. The “4” drill, firers engage three
silhouettes, holding two other silhouettes as hostages as the firers shoot 3 rounds from their M4 rifle
and 3 rounds from the M9 pistol in four seconds or less. Firers are scored with hits in the 3 silhouettes
and points are taken if any rounds hit hostage silhouettes.
