Marines with Marine Aircraft Group 29 land a CH-53, heavy-lift transport helicopter, on the LHD-7 USS Iwo-Jima Oct. 4 as a part of Type Commander Amphibious Training deck landing qualifications. The landing qualification allows for the Air Combat Element to conduct amphibious operations in support of Exercise Trident Juncture 18. Events during Trident Juncture will provide the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit opportunities to train as a Marine Air Ground Task Force in unique environments in support of partner nations.
