Col. Robert F. McLaughlin, garrison commander, speaks during the 3rd Annual National Military Suicide Survivor Seminar and Good Grief Camp Oct. 22, at Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs, Colo. McLaughlin discussed the loss of his lifelong friend, Marine Corps Maj. John Ruocco, who died by suicide in 2005. He later announced the construction of a new resiliency campus at Fort Carson “to bring more strength, mind and body, to soldiers.”
