(Oct 10, 2018) 39 Training Air Wing 5 helicopters assigned to Naval Air Station Whiting Field wait for the passing of Hurricane Michael at Millington-Memphis Airport. Formerly Naval Air Station Memphis, the air field hosted numerous locally based Naval Air Reserve and Marine Air Reserve flying squadrons, as well as a major naval air technical training center (NATTC Millington). Today, the Millington-Memphis Airport still provides support to military aircraft in association with the adjacent NSA Mid-South.
