Contractors install a pressure valve on the fire suppression system at one of the wharfs on the Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point, N.C. The system was damaged when Hurricane Florence struck the installation. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is leading the recovery effort to repair critical infrastructure that did not escape the wrath of Florence. Repairs to the suppression system are made a little more difficult without a solid platform to work from. As the U.S. military's largest ammunition terminal, MOTSU serves as a transfer point between rail, trucks, and ships for the import and export of ammunition, explosives and military equipment for the DoD.
