U.S. Marines assigned to Defensive Cyberspace Operations – Internal Defensive Measures Company, 9th Communication Battalion, I Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, participate in the activation ceremony for the DCO-IDM company at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Oct. 1, 2018. The 9th Communication Battalion DCO-IDM Company is the first of three DCO-IDM companies the Marine Corps will activate in accordance with Force Modernization 2025. DCO-IDM Company provides added security to the Marine Corps Enterprise Network by executing defensive cyberspace operations to defend the Marine Air-Ground Task Force information networks across all domains.
